I’ve got wedding fever!
This past weekend, Baby Cupcake and I ventured to South Fork, Colorado for my cousin Leah’s wedding. It was a beautiful wedding with a gorgeous bride and a guy I must say I’m pretty happy is now my cousin-in-law! Baby Cupcake and I conquered a 4-hour flight and a 5-hour car drive and then had a blast seeing so many of our family members. It was awesome. By the way, I met a few of my readers (who will hopefully comment and say hi on here sometime, too), and it just made me SO happy to talk with them and hear which recipes they had tried. Fun!
This coming weekend our friends Kim and Jason are getting married, and we’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a long time, too. As I’m getting excited for their wedding, I realized that I never posted this cute picture from a party we threw back at the beginning of May for Kim and Jason and our friends Matt and Molly (who are getting married in September). My parents hosted a cookout to get everyone together and celebrate the upcoming weddings; the theme was “You go together like…”All of the foods we had were foods that go together well…any guesses?
That’s right, mac and cheese, burgers and buns, veggies on a platter, fruit and dip, beer in a bucket, wine at a party, sweet and tea, food on a stick (for the cake pops), cookies and cream, chocolate and peanut butter. SO FUN!
So CONGRATULATIONS to Leah & Chace, Kim & Jason, and Molly & Matt! You go together like macaroni and cheese!

Oh, well, isn’t this the cutest thing I’ve ever seen! Where did you get your cake pops? I had some in Raleigh recently that were amazing! You didn’t make them, did you???
We did! Mom and I got together and we got through the first couple of steps of the cake pops before Baby Cupcake melted down, I panicked and took her home to put her to bed! Mom then finished them on her own. So mom definitely gets ALL the credit for how delicious they turned out. I’ll try to post the recipe soon. For now, I’ll say that the secret ingredient was oreo cookies!
I TOTALLY agree with Paige…. what an adorable idea! You never cease to amaze me, Alicia! What I wouldn’t give for an “Alicia treat” right now! ha Can’t wait to see you soon!
Oh thanks, Cyndy! I thought you would especially like the “Sweet and Tea!”
Thanks for the shout out!!! We couldn’t have gotten married without you – seriously. P.S. Love the pic of you and baby Cupcake at the reception!
What a great party idea! Alicia – you never cease to amaze me with your creativity!!!
