An apron and a tool belt: the perfect balance

Posted by alicia on December 9, 2012

The blanks on my December calendar of events have been filling up with ideas from you guys! Plus I had a few Christmas projects to work on so I’m counting that as part of the Christmas countdown frenzy this week.

For Christmas, Mitch and I are giving Baby Cupcake an apron (with a cupcake on it of course) and a whisk and wooden spoon (so she’ll stop taking mine). I did not make this apron because why make it when you can knock someone over and buy it during a Black Friday shopping spree? Fine, I bought it online on Black Friday but envisioned myself having to throw an elbow to get it.

Clearly Baby Cupcake already loves cooking in her red retro kitchen, but we also didn’t want to pigeon-hole her into only liking cooking. Clearly a 17-month old should not be limited like that. So we also bought her a set of tools. And–out of tool belts–I made her a personalized tool belt complete with her initial and bows (of course).

Lap tool belts cost only $0.77 at Home Depot!

Has a Home Depot tool belt ever looked this cute?

And now she's ready to help her daddy around the house.

So this fun project was part of my Christmas excitement week.  I’m definitely excited about giving these Christmas gifts to our sweet girl!

A.W.E.S.O.M.E. Elliott will have to bring her tools back East, and help Graeme out around the house. He got that same tool set last year, and he is getting a workbench this year. wink

    So fun!

Adorable set of aprons! I might even be inspired to do work around the apartment with a tool belt that stylish :) Merry Christmas, baby Cupcake!

Ha! Thanks, Dana. She’s not going to get too far with plastic tools, but she’ll be dressed to impress for sure.
